Perth is yours to enjoy at leisure, walk amongst the breathtaking array of colourful flora in the botanical gardens at Kings Park, indulge in a wine-tasting and vineyard experience at Mandoon Estate, or head up the Bell Tower, an iconic attraction that offers dramatic views.
As part of your holiday, you’ll enjoy a 48hr Hop-On-Hop-Off bus pass. Sit back and relax as you journey around the Central Business District and listen to the commentary of the history of the Swan River, through to the modern marvels of the latest developments and up to the natural beauty of Kings Park.
A further tour will take you to Fremantle, at the mouth of the Swan River, known for its markets and arts culture. Enjoy a scenic river cruise before tucking into a fresh seafood lunch at the Fishing Boat Harbour before delving into the history of Fremantle Prison.
Your final day of touring this sunny city takes you to beautiful Rottnest Island where you’ll embrace some of its most spectacular highlights including the Wadejemup Lighthouse, the rugged West End and the famous quokkas.
Following your hotel stay, you’ll board the magnificent Indian Pacific for your transcontinental voyage to Sydney, following the path of bush pioneers, gold rush prospectors and legendary adventurers. This is one of the world’s finest coast to coast crossings, on the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world. Encased in luxury, you’ll savour all-inclusive dining in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant, relax in your private cabin with en-suite and off-train excursions as you steam across the country. Marvel at the ever-changing scenery from harsh barren landscapes and the raw beauty of the Nullarbor Plain to the lush eucalyptus forests of the majestic Blue Mountains, before arriving at your final destination, Sydney, where you’ll disembark.

Welcome aboard the Indian Pacific
Experience one of the few truly transcontinental rail journeys in the world with a voyage on board the Indian Pacific service, which travels across the breadth of southern Australia in incomparable style. Part of Great Southern Rail, the Indian Pacific speeds from coast to coast on a storied journey that follows in the footsteps of bush pioneers, gold rush greed, and famous adventurers who forged to discover the barren natural beauty of Australia’s famously unforgiving outback.
Know the Facts
The dream of a transcontinental rail service began in the 1890s, but it was not until 1969 that an uninterrupted rail track linked the Indian Ocean in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the east. The train’s first full transcontinental journey took place on 23 February 1970, when more than 10,000 people welcome the historic train to the city of Perth. Today, the 774-metre-long train travels the 4,350 kilometres between Sydney and Perth in approximately 65 hours. It is instantly recognisable by its bold wedge-tailed eagle emblem.
