You’ll then cruise south to Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital, where you’ll discover traditional culture in the souks, shisha cafés and ancient harbour and the next day, explore its beautiful island destination, Sir Bani Yas Island, famed for its vast wildlife reserve. After a day at sea, one of the Middle East’s oldest cities, Muscat, will charm with its well-preserved old quarter.  The next four days cruising offers a marvellous opportunity to sample the ship’s mouth-watering culinary options, before arriving in Jeddah, a fascinating place to experience the old traditions of Saudi Arabia.  

After a day of relaxation at sea, you’ll cruise the next two days through Egypt’s historic Suez Canal, followed by two more days at sea before reaching the Mediterranean. Your first stop in Italy and its fascinating historic ports, is Naples, the ancient gateway to the alluring Isle of Capri, Sorrento and the Pompeii ruins, followed by Civitavecchia, the port serving Rome, the Eternal City, renowned as the world’s biggest open-air museum. Your final port of call is Genoa, where you’ll disembark the MSC World Europa to enjoy a three-night hotel stay in Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake and a beautifully scenic region. You’ll relish the wine tasting tour of a local winery as a fitting finale.

Retrace a piece of history as you cruise through the legendary Suez Canal

For the next two days, you’ll cruise through the Suez Canal in Egypt, an artificial sea-level waterway running for 193-kilometres through Egypt. The Suez Canal connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea through the Isthmus of Suez and separates the African continent from Asia. Constructed back in the 1860s, the canal’s historic inauguration had a dramatic effect on world trade and politics and today ranks as one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes. On board, you’ll notice the low-lying delta of the Nile River to the west and the higher, rugged and arid Sinai Peninsula to the east.
